The holidays are upon us and for some that means stress, money, gift-giving and the blasphemous CRAFTS! You want to make your home look festive but you don’t have the crafty gene and you don’t want to break the bank doing so. Sound like you?

This video shows you 3 easy and inexpensive crafts that even the non-crafty person can tackle with ease. You can also make these with your children and get them involved each and every holiday making it a family tradition.
The first craft is a placemat for your Thanksgiving table. All you’ll need is either craft paper, construction paper or oak tag and a metallic sharpie marker or other decorative pen. Cut the placemat large enough to fit your plate and about 6 extra inches to the right of your plate. In the open space, write “I’m Thankful for…” and add lines underneath the heading. Then during dinner everyone can write & share what they’re thankful for, and it provides a creative place setting for your table.
The second project is a sign you can hang over your mantle, over a doorway, down a handrail or anywhere you see fit. This one again is super easy to do and extremely inexpensive. Just grab some string, some large leaves and that metallic or decorative marker. Then pick a word that reminds you of Thanksgiving. Here I chose Thankful, but Family, Grateful, Giving, Blessed, etc all work great too. Write a letter on each leaf and attach them to the string spacing them about 2-3 inches apart. Leave some extra string on each end to hang it easily. This beautiful sign brings a festive, outdoor feel into your home and reminds you what Thanksgiving is all about!
The last craft works as a lovely centerpiece for your holiday table but can also be made individually as decorative votives throughout your home. For this project I went to the dollar store and purchased 3 different sized votives and also went outside and grabbed a bunch of sticks. Then I used my handy glue gun and attached the sticks to the outside of the votives working my way all around & leaving some sticking out of the top of the candle holder. Then I added a candle inside and put all 3 votives on a decorative plate & added some pumpkins, gourds and leaves. And voila, you have a beautiful, festive centerpiece!
