“He always knew he was a little different, but he let his light shine regardless of what others said”… Rudolph

Ahhh the joys of Christmas.  Love, laughter, peace, family, Rudolph, Frosty, Santa, and decorating… loooottts of decorating.

Once again I’ve teamed up with a fabulous group of talented women to bring you a Very Merry Tablescape Blog Hop showing you various decor ideas on how to make your table shine this Christmas season.  All of the links to their websites and tablescapes are at the end of this post so be sure to check out their amazing and creative ideas.

In the past I’ve never been a big fan of a red and green Christmas and have always decorated with pastel and neutral colors like pink, soft green, white, gold and silver. This year after finding this adorable wooden reindeer at Target, I chose to use even more neutral tones and rustic elements.  At last, I had the start of my table centerpiece!

A quick shopping trip to Michael’s and I found this mini wooden sled on sale for 60% off.  It only cost me around $7… cha-ching!  My kitchen table is rather small so it’s hard finding pieces that make an impact on such a small scale.  But to me this little guy on his winter wonderland sled did the trick!

Next I wanted to bring more natural elements in so I chose these birch candles and real pine garland, both for the color and the smell.  A few fake artichokes from the clearance bins at Michael’s and I was on a roll.

In keeping with the neutral and rustic theme I went to one of my favorite stores on a mission, Home Goods.  I already had the white plates but I wanted to find a decorative plate(s) to put on top, bringing more dimension to the place setting.  I was lucky enough to find this white and grey plate and bowl set that has tree branches and flowers on them with the cutest little bird, complementing my birch candles nicely.  The bowl has the bird on the inside of it too.

The napkins are white with silver and gold snowflakes which match my silver and gold utencils perfectly.

For drinks I chose champagne flutes that I had and added some sparkling wine and fresh blueberries, again giving it a more natural feel.

The finishing touches came with a white and silver wreath that I had purchased last year, my first ever Santa figurine, a wooden love sign and some baby silver trees wrapped in burlap.  All of these items really tied in nicely with my theme of neutral and rustic decor, giving it a true Winter Wonderland feel.

My accessorizing wouldn’t be complete without a “Joy” throw pillow which truly reminds us what we should all feel this holiday season!
